What is Dragon Boat?

It is a sport where 18-20 people paddle together in a long narrow boat to the beat of a giant drum. The boat is usually guided by the drummer at the front, and sometimes by the steersperson at the back. Throughout the year, there are races held around the world. The Southern California Dragon Boat race is held annually in Long Beach, CA.

The sport is also an ancient Chinese tradition celebrating a patriot-poet named Qu Yuan. More about Dragon Boat history...

Who are the Electric Dragons?

They encourage strong sportsmanship, diversity, and camaraderie, which have become a part of the team's culture through the commitment and teamwork required. As members are practicing in the water, they also get a good workout in the sun and meet new people, especially during the lunches afterwards.
